Last Updated January 27, 2026

In connection with providing care to patients, InStride Health (“InStride”) makes use of certain technologies that leverage artificial intelligence (“AI Tools”).  This Notice describes how those AI Tools are used and the safeguards that InStride uses to keep our patients and their information safe.

AI Tools may include:

  • Administrative tools that help our clinicians focus on patient care, including tools that transcribe and summarize visits between clinicians and patients and tools that provide other assistance with clinician workflows.
  • Tools that help InStride to evaluate and improve the services we provide, including to help improve the quality and consistency of our care.
  • Tools that help respond to simple questions you may have about InStride.  These tools do not take the place of your clinician and do not provide clinical guidance, but they can help you get more information about available appointment times, wait times, and insurance information.

We want you to know that:

  • InStride does not use AI Tools as a replacement for clinicians.
  • InStride maintains an internal AI use policy that governs how our company and our clinicians use AI Tools.  We also monitor the output of our AI Tools to ensure that they are consistent with our company’s commitment to providing high quality care for all of our patients.
  • InStride uses patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other federal and state privacy laws.

If you have questions or concerns about how InStride uses AI Tools, you can contact help@instride.health.

State-Specific Matters

Certain states have laws that govern the use of AI Tools by health care professionals.  If you reside in one of the below listed states, please review the following information carefully.

For patients residing in Illinois

Illinois law requires that patients consent to the use of AI Tools that are used to provide supplementary support to clinicians providing mental health care.

You can revoke your consent at any time, but the revocation of your consent may mean that InStride is no longer able to provide you with clinical services.
